Tree House

Tree House, Lawlor Architects

Four stories tall and two rooms deep, this
row house sits on a mid-block lot in a large, historic district. Like a tree house, the original structure was tall, shallow with good natural lighting. The project entailed a full house renovation with a two-story rear addition doubling the size of the house to accommodate the needs of socially family. The addition contains the new kitchen and dining room as well as two new bedrooms with a 1.5 baths and laundry. A three-story lightwell above a new stair connects the addition to the renovated and reconfigured Victorian to light the house naturally during the day.
